It's been successful and fun, so it's time to take it straight to the people.
I have been a professional singer songwriter, producer, performer and studio musician for over 35 years, working in pop, rock, blues, country and Americana music (and lots of other genres, too...don't you hate labels?). I've worked with Jimmy Buffett, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Shemekia Copeland and Todd Snider, to name but a few. I've won awards, been nominated for Grammys...most importantly I've raised a family with my spouse of 30 years!
It takes a lot of creativity and improvisation to make a long term marriage and a music career work out. So it's been one heck of a journey.
That's why I'm sharing my story.
This story starts with a wide eyed kid on the Gulf Coast of Alabama who dreamed of playing in a rock n roll band. The kid - me - did just that.
And I never stopped.
That journey led me to the Eighties music business in New York City and Nashville, through the nineties with John Prine and Todd Snider, into the 21st Century with Jimmy Buffett and Rodney Crowell. Along the way I have released roughly 20 albums solo and with my own bands. I have played on countless recording sessions for dozens of artists from all over.
This story is about having a blast - in New Orleans with The Clash and The Meters - in New York City with Johnny Thunders and Joey Ramone - in Nashville with Emmylou and Rodney - in Memphis with Todd Snider and Rev Charles Hodges - in Australia with my wonderful wife Jessica - and on through Pandemic strangeness - to the present, working with Songwriting With Soldiers and the Warrior PATHH program - post traumatic growth through songwriting! - it's an amazing journey and I'm here to share it with y'all.
